The Odin Current -
Pathway of the Rainbow Serpent
from England to Latvia

Map of sites along the Odin Current - North Frisian Islands, Denmark, Sweden, and the Latvian coast.

The Pathway of the Rainbow Serpent Planetary Ley Artery
Through the North Frisian Islands, Denmark and Sweden
to the Latvian Coast.

The Rainbow Serpent artery exits England between Great Yarmouth and Aldeburgh. Its average width, as it encircles the world, is around 42 kilometres. This width may slightly expand as the Rainbow Serpent enters and exits an earth chakra or a major planetary centre. In England, the northern stream of this planetary artery is called the Michael line and the parallel southern stream is the Herne line. These two ley streams have a surface tension – a strength of telluric current that contains the greater energy of the Rainbow Serpent between them.

There are peculiar landscape features at the entrance and exit areas where either the Rainbow Serpent or the Plumed Serpent move from ocean to land travel. Study the watery area just back from the coast at Aldeburgh, Suffolk, where the Herne line exits England. Note that the north and south streams enter Latvia exactly at the north and south ends of two coastal lakes. The Rainbow ley artery is a great river of life energy, and it likes to connect with anchoring bodies of water immediately after it reaches land.

As the Rainbow Serpent crosses the North Sea, the southern stream (Herne line) passes just north of the Dutch island of Terschelling – one of the Frisian Islands. Someone standing on the north coast of this island could feel the life current flowing by through the sea. A ferry from Harwich to Hamburg would travel along the Rainbow Serpent pathway for a 300 kilometre section in the middle of its voyage.

The southern current of the Rainbow Serpent first reaches land at Helgoland, or Holy Island. In Queen Victoria’s era, there were interesting interactions on this Herne line between two of its prominent nodes – Windsor Park and Helgoland. The northern line arrives at Sylt. The full life-giving energy of the Rainbow ley artery sweeps in over all of the North Frisian Islands between Sylt and Nordstrand. The force of the Rainbow Serpent crossing the North Sea and flowing through these welcoming islands makes the North Frisians an extremely healthy area. The combination of telluric current, fresh air, iodine, negative ions and sunshine in this area is powerful and healing.

After energising the North Frisians the Rainbow Serpent moves northeast over the German-Danish border area, crossing south Jutland, all of Funen south of Odense, and central Zealand.

Copenhagen is exactly on the northern current. In 2000, the historic linking of Sweden and Denmark was achieved with the opening of the Oresunds Bridge between Copenhagen and Malmo. This bridge is in the middle of the Rainbow Serpent pathway.

The Rainbow Serpent crosses the Swedish province of Skane, containing the major cities of Malmo and Lund, and then crosses the Baltic Sea to Latvia. The southern current leaves Skane at the “Stonehenge” of Sweden – Ales Stenar. This powerful, perfectly situated, sacred site is a standing stone formation in the shape of a ship.

There are several ancient megalithic stone ship sacred sites sailing along the Rainbow Serpent energy river, as it flows across Denmark and southern Sweden. Ales Stenar and the stone ship at Lejre are outstanding examples. These celestial ships are travelling from the realm of the divine, upon the great energy river of the world. The importance of all Danish and Swedish sacred sites contained within the pathway of the Rainbow Serpent should be recognised. All work at these sites on the Scandinavian section of the Rainbow Serpent should be dedicated to increasing life, love, light and liberty for all beings upon the earth.

As mentioned above, the Rainbow Serpent, after crossing the Baltic Sea, enters Latvia on the west coat between Liepaja and Rucava, energising the north end of Liepajas ezers (lake) and the south end of a lake east of Rucava. The 400 kilometre pathway of the Rainbow Serpent across Latvia and a northern section of Lithuania will be explored in a later essay.

The Jormangand Bifrost Serpent Comes Ashore

At Ragnarok – the Destiny of the Divine – Bifrost collapses. Bifrost, the Rainbow Bridge connecting heaven to earth (spirit to matter), was composed of three of the four elements – fire, air and water. In order for the alchemy of spirit and matter united to advance, Bifrost must incorporate the missing element – earth.

When the Rainbow Bridge dissolves it unites with the Midgard Serpent, Jormangand, who circles the world. From out of the creative chaos of Ragnarok, an historic event occurs. A new force emerges from the sea and travels across the land. This is the Jormangand Bifrost Planetary Ley Artery. Its global, trans-cultural name is the Rainbow Serpent. All four alchemical elements are harmoniously combined within this new vitalising force. This new force unites spirit and matter – heaven and earth – on earth.

The pathway of this Rainbow Serpent across southern Britain is well defined. (see The Rainbow Serpent across Britain) For many decades work with this British ley artery has stopped, for many people, at the east coast of England, where the Serpent enters the North Sea. Now is the time for the Jormangand Bifrost Serpent to emerge from the sea, enter southern Scandinavia, and travel across the land, in dedication to the greater health and harmony of all creation.

In preparation for the crossing of the North Sea devote two or three days to exploring the English contact area for the Jormangand Bifrost Serpent, between Great Yarmouth and Aldeburgh. Investigate all the watery and sacred features within two kilometres of the coast. Then travel to the North Frisians and continue to expand your work with the ley artery.

The ideal time for this historic linking of the British and Scandinavian sections of the Rainbow Serpent is from the full moon of 20 April to the full moon of 20 May, 2008. Included between these two important full moons are Walpurgis Night-Beltane (30 April-1 May) and the Taurus new moon on 5 May. The inception time for this new moon is 12:19 GMT (adjust for Danish time), when the union of the sun and moon is high in the sky over Denmark and Sweden. On the four meditative-ritual occasions mentioned above work at key sites upon the Jormangand Bifrost pathway. Anchor the coastal sites and energise inland locations. Note: The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen is exactly on the Odin-Mjollnir stream (northern current) and is an archetype of the transition of the Aeon of Pisces to the Aeon of Aquarius. This site should be included in the 2008 workings in Denmark, as this time is central to the emergence of Aquarian archetypes in the world.

There are four great elemental vortices upon the earth. Here is a table of the four centres and their main attributions:

ElementSpinner Wheel (Vortex)QualityLunar connection
earthTable Mountain, South AfricalightVirgo new and full moons
waterRotopounamu, New ZealandlovePisces new and full moons
airMt. Olives-Sinai-Gt. PyramidlifeLibra new and full moons
fireHaleakala, HawaiilibertyAries new and full moons

If possible, bring energies from these four elemental vortices to use in stabilising and harmonising events for the Jormangand Bifrost Serpent in 2008, or at any other time. When Jormangand and Bifrost fused, the patterns of the rainbow appeared upon the planetary body of Jormangand. This fusion is maintained by working with the four planetary elemental vortices.

When the Rainbow Serpent crosses Britain, its northern stream is called the Michael, or Michael-Mary, line. The parallel southern current is called the Herne line. The names of these two currents change when they reach the North Frisian Islands. The north line is known as the Odin line, or the Odin-Mjollnir line. The parallel south line is called the Yggdrasill line. The total flow of the Rainbow Serpent across Germany, Denmark and Sweden is called the Jormangand Bifrost Serpent.

In summary, the Michael line = the Odin or Odin-Mjollnir line; the Herne line = the Yggdrasill line; and the Rainbow Serpent planetary ley artery = the Jormangand Bifrost planetary ley artery.

From the aftermath of Ragnarok new designs of life and harmony emerge. In the ancient myths Bifrost separated the gods from the human world. Now, after Ragnarok, the Rainbow Serpent – Jormangand Bifrost – encircles the world to bring heaven and earth together. The archetypes have significantly changed. All those interested in such changes should take note of this development and incorporate it in future artistic expressions. Work to energise and strengthen the Jormangand Bifrost pathway across the North Frisians, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. This work contributes to the creative evolution of all life on earth.

Additional Sites and Information
Along the Rainbow Serpent Pathway
Through Denmark and Sweden

(Numbers in parentheses place these additional sites
to the nearest location numbered on the map.)

AERO:
Tingstedet
is a major Neolithic passage chamber near Stove Rise, in the centre of the island. (3) Two other important Neolithic sites on Aero: Lindsbjerg is a hilltop long barrow. (3) Kragnaes is 4 km west of Marstal. (3)

LANGELAND:
1. Rudkobing is the birthplace of physicist HC Orsted, who contributed to modern electromagnetic theory. Ley arteries involve a more subtle form of electromagnetic activity. The physics of 75% of the universal structure has yet to be discovered. (5)
2. Kong Humbles Grav – This is a large long dolmen near the Yggdrasil line on Langeland. (5)

FUNEN:
1. Svanninge Bakkar – The highest hills on Funen are in the centre of the Rainbow Serpent pathway, about 6 km north of Faaborg. Hilltops are always important ritual-meditative centres and are often nodes on local ley lines. (25)
2. Faaborg town square – There is a sculpture by Kai Nielsen of Ymer, a Norse Giant who was killed by Odin. (25)
3. Ambrosius Egen – 1 km southwest of Valdemar’s Castle is a famous, ancient oak tree over 400 years old, and with a circumference of over 7 metres. (4)
4. Although north of the Rainbow Serpent path, mention must be made of Marhoj, Funen’s largest single chamber Neolithic site. It’s in the Hindsholm Peninsula, northwest of Odense. Take a diversion from the Bifrost-Jormangand pathway to connect with this site. (north of 14)

It is vital to connect to important sacred sites outside of the Rainbow Serpent ley artery. A ley line is a straight line connecting three or more significant sites. Local leys can be discovered and then fed into the Rainbow pathway through one of its nodes. Significant ley points may include Neolithic sites, hilltops, cathedrals, sources of rivers, lakes, etc. For example, with Marhoj and other sites, mentioned below, outside the global ley artery, try to connect their energies with a site on the Rainbow Serpent Pathway. If possible, map a local ley line while doing this connective work.

ZEALAND:
1. The Susa River – One of the longest in Denmark, this river crosses the Rainbow Serpent path. At Ronnede, near the source of the Susa, is a Rhododendron Park. The sources of rivers are excellent places for ritual-meditative work that blesses the entire area that the river flows through. (28)
2. Soro – This is an important historical town, associated with the great Bishop Absalon, founder of Copenhagen. It is on the Rainbow Serpent. Research Bishop Absalon. (29)
3. Lake Tisso – This is the fourth largest lake in Denmark and was a very important Viking centre. It was a centre for Odin and is on the Odin-Mjollnir line. (northwest of 29) Shamans and mystics worldwide wait by such lakes to be swallowed by the Rainbow Serpent – and returned replete with eternal wisdom.
4. Gissefeldt Castle – On the ley artery, near Haslev. (29)
5. South of the Yggdrasil line:
a. There are Neolithic sites on the Knudshoved Odde Peninsula. (south of 6)
b. Mon – Three major Neolithic sites are on this island: Kong Asgers Hoj, near Roddinge, Klekkende Hoj, and Gronjaegers Hoj. (south of 7)
c. Udby – This is the birthplace of NFS Grundtvig, philosopher and poet, who inspired the folk school educational movement. Grundtvig is a very interesting spiritual thinker and should be more widely known. (south of 28)
6. Copenhagen – Thorvaldsen’s sculpture of the Risen Christ, located in the main cathedral, is an archetypal work of art. Also, visit Thorvaldsen’s Museum. If you are a jazz fan, attend the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. (17)

SKANE, SWEDEN:
1. Malmo – Find the “Turning Torso”, a 190 metre high twisting work of architecture. (31)
2. Falsterbo Peninsula – On the Serpent Path, search for amber, which washes up on beaches here. Amber is a symbol of the Bifrost-Jormangand Serpent emerging from the waters between Denmark and Sweden. Amber from these beaches may be utilized in Rainbow Serpent meditations and rituals worldwide. (8)
3. Trelleborg – There is a great Viking ring fortress here. (8)
4. Ysted – Read the Inspector Wallander detective novels, by Henning Mankell, set in this town. (10)
5. Ales Stenar – A further note on this site: The stem stone points to the midsummer sunset and the stern stone marks the midwinter sunrise. (10)
6. Glimmingehus – Glimminge Castle (10)
7. A note on Stanshuvud National Park – Climb up to the old hill fort summit. (33)
8. Ahus – This is the home of Absolut Vodka! (18)
9. Just north of the Odin-Mjollnir line: Lange Jan is the tallest lighthouse in Scandinavia, located on the southern tip of the island of Oland. This lighthouse shines its light southwards upon the Rainbow Path as it crosses the Baltic Sea to Latvia. (northeast of 20)

A note on Shaftesbury, King Canute and Denmark:

Many representatives from Denmark, Sweden, Latvia and other countries have made the pilgrimage to Shaftesbury – the Will centre for the Planetary Heart Chakra - because King Canute died there in 1035 AD. One of the great Viking Kings, he is buried in Winchester. The last Viking King, Sven, is buried in Roskilde, on the Rainbow Serpent path in Denmark. It is important to work to connect the energies of Shaftesbury and Denmark. The connective link is the Rainbow Serpent (Bifrost-Jormangand) ley artery, as both sites are important centres along its global pathway. For further information on Shaftesbury see Spheres of Destiny: The Shaftesbury Prophecy.
